Great critical reviews from the beginning

While we’ve gotten lots of kudos from customers and the media over the years for Bistro To Go, one of our favorites is “Best Comfort Food Restaurant” in the 2011 Pittsburgh Magazine Readers Poll.  And there are still more good media reviews and media stories here.  Plus, our catering clients offer some wonderful comments.

And here is what some of our restaurant customers have said:

Customer Reviews of Bistro To Go

I love Bistro to Go. The food is delicious – I enjoy stopping in to see what they’ve whipped up. The jambalaya is a favorite of mine. I love those yummy warm rolls served with the meals. They have some really delicious pasta salads, a nice beverage selection and some outdoor seating. But who needs the outdoors when the inside is so cozy? The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and comfortable. Great service, by the way. I am definitely a fan of Bistro Allison on Urban Spoon

Bistro To Go is one of my favorite places to eat… The food is always great tasting, the service is quick, the atmosphere is wonderful and the people who work there are so so nice… I only wish I could get there more often… —Jackie on Urban Spoon

Really nice atmosphere, quick service & the food was excellent. My broccoli puffed pastry & cucumber salad tasted just like mommas. My daughter’s crispy chicken & green beans were devoured. George on Urban Spoon

REVIEWS in the media, too

I’ve been going to Bistro To Go for over a year now. Their food is always fresh and delicious. The portions are good, the price is right and you’ll have some of the BEST tomato basil soup you’ve ever tasted! All around gem on the North Side! If they’re smart, they’ll open more around the city. There is no neighborhood in this town that wouldn’t be fortunate to get a Bistro To Go! Kyle on Urban Spoon

Who hasn’t heard every mom brag about having the best chicken salad? Well, unequivocally this is it! Moms across America will now have to vie for second place. All the food was extremely fresh and delicious and change with the seasons… Staff was extremely friendly and prices were very good.
If you’re ever in Pittsburgh this is definitely worth going across the bridge to the Northside. The food is so good you’ll plan on eating there more than once! sfkevster from San Francisco on Tripadvisor.com

Friendly place, super nice people working and eating there and a good place to get a wide variety of fresh, healthy and well prepared food.

I love the sandwich with ham, cheese, green apples and onion on the bread cheese roll.

Staff is always super attentive and pleasant.  Good for vegetarians, comfortable dining room.

Definitely worth going to for lunch and dinner for homestyle classic meals and some well done inventive dishes. Steve on Yelp

Customer Reviews of Bistro Soul

Wow, Bistro Soul serves up slow, cooked, flavor infused home cookin’ like your Mother would make if she was a cook in a Southern 1950′s kitchen. Mac and cheese, corn bread, ribs, and a chef’s special I had today- creole black eyed peas over rice. I didn’t try desserts but folks say the sweet potato pie is just like grandma’s. BJC on Urban Spoon

The best soul food, and some of the best food overall, in Pittsburgh. This is a wonderful place to grab a quick lunch or dinner. They also have great catering! Brian on Google.com

I am in love with this restaurant. Coming from the south and moving here, I needed a place like this. Warm and welcoming when you walk through the door and the specials change weekly and I keep going back to check them out. Definitely worth checking out! The gumbo is the best out there!!! Rebecca Anne on Urban Spoon.

A native of New Orleans, I had to try the red beans and rice. Wasn’t quite my mamma’s, but it was GOOD! Seating area was nice & bright. I’ll be back to try the Jambalaya for sure.George on Urban Spoon
