Bistro To Go.
Even the the name was not my first choice. It was supposed to be ‘Allegheny Cooking Company.’
I adored that name, but I am nothing if not flexible. A questionnaire was filled out by the community residents and they had spoken, choosing the name Bistro To Go.
I wasn’t really thinking of opening a restaurant… not in my wildest dreams!
I had worked in food service for 30 years, and my big finale (or so I thought), the “dream job” was to run a volunteer kitchen in a church – Allegheny Center Alliance Church, or ACAC.
All of that changed when I met Barbara Burns.
