Mark your calendars — the beloved Historic Deutschtown House Tour is back on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the self-guided walking tour offers a rare chance to explore a curated collection of distinctive homes on Pittsburgh’s Northside. From meticulously restored Victorian-era residences to imaginative modern makeovers, each stop reveals a unique piece of the neighborhood’s story.

Highlights include 1006 Cedar Ave., a renovated Victorian once home to American Adventist minister Charles Taze Russell that features its original curved Eastern White Pine staircase and has rooftop views of the city. Built in 1883, 508 Lockhart St. is a gem with original flooring, marble mantles and a charming European-style courtyard.

Those attending should expect to spend two to three hours exploring the neighborhood; knowledgeable volunteers will be at each home to share history and insights with tourists.

Besides fueling your day with brunch at Bistro to Go, East Ohio Street’s shops are a great place to visit during the event. To wrap up your night, check out Allegheny City Brewing for a lively after party.

An exclusive Friday preview event also will be held on Nov. 7. This intimate evening, featuring drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and conversation, takes place inside a stunning private home that’s not featured on Saturday’s tour.

Proceeds from the event benefit Historic Deutschtown’s mission to preserve the neighborhood’s historic charm and strengthen community bonds.

Tour booklets, maps and route guides will be available at Sweet Time General Store, located at 435 E. Ohio St. On sale now, tickets are $25 in advance or $35 on the day of the event.
