Nicole Martinez, co-founder of Loyalty Weddings & Events, revels in the joy of helping create a couple’s big day. “As corny as this sounds, I just love hearing about what they want, what makes them different,” she says.
While love is forever, wedding trends aren’t, especially when it comes to the music. “How do we bring something unique to the table?” she asks. “How do we just always keep it fresh and modern and something new?”
Those are important questions for a company that prides itself on its DJ services (in addition to photography, videography and live music).
“All of our DJs are actual DJs, which is huge,” says Martinez. “Today’s couples want it to be quick mixing, where they’re able to play like a country song and transition into like a hip hop song super seamlessly and beat match.”
Martinez and her husband, Loyal, founded Loyalty Weddings & Events in 2015 while they were also busy raising two children and Martinez was finishing a master’s degree in nursing.
“It snowballed from ‘Hey, let me give this a shot and see,’” she says. Loyal was a professional dance instructor at the time and turned a lot of heads at early events by hitting the floor to lead trendy line dances.
“Now we do over 1,000 weddings a year,” says Martinez. “And line dancing isn’t cool anymore.”
In 2022, Martinez left nursing to bring her talents to Loyalty full time. She works as the point of contact for everyone from clients to team members (over 70!) to an event’s other vendors. One of her favorites? Bistro To Go, of course.
“When you have great vendors, the wedding just flows so well,” she says. “Not only do the clients love it, but all of the vendors love it, the venues love it, because it’s just seamless. With our teams working together all the time, you feel like the nice, well-oiled machine that it becomes.”
